Together, with other leading telecommunications operators and communications infrastructure companies (DIGI, MASORANGE, Telefónica, Vodafone, American Tower, Cellnex Telecom, AOTEC, Hispasat and Vantage Towers), coordinated through the association Asociación DigitalES_, we have signed an Agreement with the Spanish Government, represented by Oscar López Agueda - Ministro para la Transformación Digital y de la Función Pública de España, and in presence of the SETELECO. Secretaría de Estado de Telecomunicaciones e Infraestructuras Digitales Antonio Hernando Vela and María González Veracruz, Secretaria de Estado de Digitalización e Inteligencia Artificial.

This agreement aimed to restore the whole digital connectivity in the most agile and effective way possible in the areas impacted by the DANA (Spanish acronym for high-altitude isolated depression).

In particular, the agreement signed establishes 10 key commitments to minimize the effects of the #DANA and restore normality in access to connectivity services :

✅Make every effort to restore the full operability of electronic communications networks and services, digital infrastructures

✅Deploy an additional effort to recover and enable integrity and maintenance in the operational continuity of networks and services

✅Support measures to enable affected citizens to make greater use of electronic communications services and access to the internet

✅Support measures to enable affected citizens to recover as soon as possible from the conditions in which they may be receiving electronic communications services

✅To work together to ensure that the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure is carried out as quickly as possible; and

✅During the event, the Minister reported that 300,000 people were left without mobile phones. Two weeks later, 95% of mobile coverage had been recovered, highlighting the work of all Operators such as Towercos in the restoration.
